There are a number of ways parents and partners can get involved with the Alumni Office and the Perelman School of Medicine.
Speaking opportunities - We always welcome parent involvement during our on-campus events, and encourage family to participate in our Parents and Partners Panels, our Women in Medicine event, and our Alumni-Student Knowledge Panel. If you'd like more information about becoming a guest speaker, please contact Page Pepper at email@example.com or 215-898-9190
Hosting regional events - The Office of Alumni Development and Alumni Relations often host receptions in other parts of the country for local alumni, parents, and friends of the Perelman School of Medicine. If you live outside of Philadelphia and would be interested in hosting a reception in your home, please contact Bill Bole at firstname.lastname@example.org or 215-898-9175
Be a HOST Volunteer - Fourth-year students who are traveling for their residency interviews often incur large costs to stay in other cities. The HOST Program allows parents and alumni to open their homes to students as they travel to help defray these costs. If you would like to volunteer to host traveling fourth-year students, you can sign up for the program here.
Join us for Women in Medicine - We encourage mothers of students to attend the annual Women in Medicine event held in the spring. This event is a great opportunity to hear more about work-life balance for female students, and parents can meet with alumnae to learn their stories. Learn more about Women in Medicine here.
Make a gift to the Perelman School of Medicine - Annual gifts help to support financial aid, academic and clinical programming, technology, and other pertinent needs of the school. Your support funds current and future students as they journey to become doctors. Make a gift here.
Other giving opportunities - There are a number of established scholarship funds available to support medical students from all walks of life. You can get an overview of many of these opportunities here and select any of the names to make a gift directly to that fund.
Read Partners in Giving - Our annual honor roll of donors to the School of Medicine, Partners in Giving is published each fall. The 2011-2012 issue will feature a parent giving section as well.
